Welcome to the
Australian
Environment
Network
The Australian Environment Network (AEN) is a network of Australian environmental civil society organisations which have purposes related to the conservation, protection or restoration of the Australian environment. Established in 2009, it replaces a previously-existing network called the National Environment Consultative Forum.
The AEN has the following functions:
- Monitor and advise the Australian Government on public participation mechanisms.
- Assist in organising consultative processes with the Australian Government, and communicate outcomes of these processes to the membership of AEN.
- Coordinate consensus nominations of representatives from the AEN membership to government advisory committees.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of contacts in Environment Civil Society Organisations and relevant Australian Government departments.
