National Reconciliation Week 27 May – 3 June

2018 National Reconciliation Week
This year during National Reconciliation Week, Reconciliation Australia invites all Australians to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories, to share that knowledge and help us grow as a nation.

This year’s theme “Don’t Keep History A Mystery: Learn. Share. Grow” explores history hidden just beneath the surface, ready and waiting to be uncovered. This "National Reconciliation Week" learn more about the Australian story.

The anniversary of the 1967 Referendum (27 May) marks the start of NRW each year. The 1967 referendum altered the Australian Constitution in a momentous way, with more than 90 per cent of Australian voters choosing 'Yes’

National Skills Week - August 27 – September 2, 2018

2018 National Skills Week
National Skills Week is the focal point for the promotion of Australia’s Vocational Education and Training sector (VET). Each year the week continues to celebrate and inform students and the wider public of the diversity and career pathways available through VET. The week communicates the emerging trends and new growth drivers connecting skills training with job outcomes.

Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, The Hon Karen Andrews launched Real Skills for Real Careers, to champion the benefits of VET and Australian Apprenticeships.

Minister Andrews said Real Skills for Real Careers would feature people sharing their personal VET success stories in videos, podcasts, brochures, posters and across social media.

We encourage GTOs to think about an event that could be hosted sometime during the week to promote apprenticeships and your organisation

For further information refer to the National Skills website.
