Victorian Group Training Standards
Victorian Group Training Organisations are now regulated under new arrangements that commenced on 1 July 2016 through the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
The VRQA and the Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) are now working together to co-regulate Victorian group training organisations (GTOs).
Each GTO will self-assess their compliance annually, through a survey administered by the AEN. This information will then be provided to the VRQA who will determine which organisations require further audit using a risk-based approach. All new applications will go through this self-assessment and review process.
The VRQA will make all decisions on new applications and on renewal, cancellation and suspensions of GTOs. In an Australian-first, the Victorian system will adopt the revised national GTO standards.
Information on these changes will be available soon on the VRQA website. In the meantime, if you would like to know more, contact Chris Ingham, VRQA Executive Manager, Apprenticeships and Traineeships at email@example.com or Gary Workman Executive Director AEN firstname.lastname@example.org .
