Media Release: Group Training apprentices clean up at State Training Awards

The Group Training Association of Victoria heartily congratulates the finalists in this year’s State Training Awards.

The Victorian Training Awards are the peak statewide awards for vocational education and training. The Awards recognise the excellence and achievements of Victoria’s apprentices, trainees, training organisations and employers.

“Congratulations to all the apprentices, trainees and Group Training Organisations competing in tonight’s State training awards,” says Gary Workman Executive Director of the Group Training Association of Victoria.

“This year the group training industry is very well represented with a large number of finalists. And all four finalists in the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ category are from Group Training Organisations.”

“The high number of Group Training finalists reflects the support and commitment Group Training provides to both apprentices and employers.”

“With both Group Training apprentices and their employers nominated for awards we can see the positive results of the Group Training provides with its emphasis on meaningful employment contributing to economic growth as well as raising training standards,” says Workman.

The winners will be announced at a dinner on Friday 6 September in Melbourne.
