GTO Reimbursement Program
Recently DEWR announced the Group Training Organisation Reimbursement Program which will commence from 1 January 2025 as part of the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive System.
The program is capped at 400 reimbursement places nationally, and up to 20 reimbursed placements per GTO. 20% of the reimbursed placements per GTO will be reserved for women Australian Apprentices. The reimbursed placement will expire (and therefore cannot be transferred) if the host placement comes to an end within the payment period (expiring at 52 weeks). Eligibility:
- Determined by the Apprentice Connect Australia Provider
- GTO must be listed on the Group Training National Register and adhere to the National Standards
- GTO must be compliant with the National Standards for GTOs in the relevant State or Territory as of 1 January 2025
- Must not be in receipt of an equivalent State or Territory incentive that offsets or reduces GTO service fees in respect of the same Australian Apprenticeship.
- The program is designed to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) (199 employees or less) to access Group Training Organisation (GTO) services by alleviating financial barriers to take advantage of these services
- Provides payments that are intended to reimburse some, or all the cost associated with GTO services for the SME (service placement fees / charge out rate)
- Targets SMEs that have not directly engaged or hosted an apprentice through a GTO within the last two years
- SMEs to access a payment value of $100 per week, and up to $5,200 (GST inclusive) over 52 weeks
- $1,300 payment 13 weeks from when the hosting arrangement commenced, with subsequent $1,300 payments on the 26, 39 and 52 weeks from that date
- Will be administered through ADMS
- Additional to any non-equivalent incentive payment/s. E.G: commencement incentives, completion incentives, or wage subsidies

About 170 million new jobs will be created by global macro trends this decade.
That’s according to a new report from the World Economic Forum that delves into the future of work over the next five years.
The Future of Jobs Report 2025 finds that, driven by technological development, the green transition, economic and demographic shifts, the global labour market is being reshaped.
The jobs created are equivalent to 14% of today’s employment. Alongside, 92 million roles will be displaced by these same trends. This means there will be a net employment increase of 78 million jobs.
So what will those jobs be and what skills will people need to possess to land one of them?
To find out, the report surveyed more than 1,000 of the largest employers around the world, representing 22 industry clusters and more than 14 million workers.
