New Energy Access Approach
|
The Victorian Government is introducing the Victorian Access Regime, a new framework to manage how energy generation and storage projects connect to the state’s electricity transmission network.
|
- Support development in Renewable Energy Zones (REZs)
- Provide developers with more certainty and a clear path to grid access
- Ensure community engagement and deliver social and economic benefits to Traditional Owners, landholders, and local communities
To guide this, VicGrid has released three consultation documents:
|
- Access and Connections Consultation Paper – outlines the new regime and transitional arrangements.
- Draft Grid Impact Assessment Guidelines – details the process for projects outside REZs.
- Draft Community Engagement and Social Value Guidelines – sets expectations for developers on community involvement and benefit-sharing.
|
To read the documents and provide feedback visit VicGrid.
