
AEN Fellowship
Being awarded an AEN Fellowship is the highest recognition that can be bestowed by the Association, on an individual or organisation, for their contribution to vocational education and training and the advancement of Group Training in Victoria.
AEN Lifetime Achievement Award
The AEN Lifetime Achievement Award recognises an individual, for their contribution to vocational education and training and the advancement of Group Training in Victoria.
GTO Categories
GTO Service Excellence Awards
The GTO Service Excellence Award is presented to a staff member, or team/group of staff for a demonstrated outstanding contribution to the success in Group Training. Nominations can be made by Group Training Organisations, client organisations, colleagues, and professional bodies.
GTO Industry Service Awards
AEN and our members have a proud history of supporting apprentices, trainees and host employers. This support is provided by hundreds of dedicated staff. Every year AEN is proud to recognise the achievements of our members/staff through industry service awards. These awards are presented at 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30+ years of continuous service to the Group Training industry.
Outstanding OHS Initiative
The Outstanding OH&S Initiative Award is presented to an individual, team/group or organisation for a demonstrated outstanding contribution to OH&S in Group Training. Nominations can be made by Group Training Organisations, client organisations, colleagues, and professional bodies.
Individual Categories
There are eight categories for which an individual may be nominated in the AEN Awards. An individual may be nominated for multiple categories.
ATOA Apprentice of the Year
The Australian Technical Officers Association has bestowed AEN with funding to establish an award to recognise the best Victorian GTO apprentice.
Trainee of the Year
Inspiration Award: Indigenous Student of the Year
This award category recognises the achievements of our Victorian indigenous apprentice and trainees and their commitment to their communities.
Inspiration Award: Overcoming Adversity
This award category recognises those apprentices and trainees in Victoria who have faced and overcome significant challenges in their lives that would have otherwise prevented them from undertaking or completing their apprenticeship or traineeship.
Inspiration Award: Women in Trades
This award category acknowledges the contribution Victorian women make in the trades and recognises their achievements in overcoming the stigma faced in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
School-based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year
This award category recognises Victorian students who are undertaking a Certificate II or higher qualification as a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship and their commitment to their studies at school and in the workplace.
STAR Awards
The STAR Awards (Stop Taking A Risk) are presented to apprentices or trainees employed by a Victorian Group Training Organisation for a demonstrated contribution to making their workplace a safer environment.
Inspiration Award: Disability Achievement
This award category is presented to an apprentice/trainee with disability who has shown outstanding performance and attitude.
