Ian Said is Manager Industry Solutions & Partnerships Metro at Bendigo Kangan Institute [BKI], bringing 12 years of experience in the vocational education sector, including 7.5 years in TAFE. In his first five years, Ian led industry engagement for the Automotive and Construction & Industrial portfolios, and has since expanded into Health, Community, Food and Business sectors. 

He drives strategic partnerships across metro-based education portfolios, aligning training delivery with industry needs and workforce priorities. Ian is well known for driving local and national apprenticeship programs including BMW NextTech, Westar & Patterson Cheney Apprenticeship Academy, and AGCO’s agricultural mechanical Technicians program—each continuing to welcome new cohorts annually. At the 2025 GAN & AEN Mid-Year Conference, Ian will present on some of these apprenticeship and GTO initiatives at BKI and contribute to the panel discussion as a committed advocate for practical, industry-supported training.
