Work placement rotations will be one week in each school term – 4 weeks in total. One week of this will be a week course with TAFE in bricklaying.
Participants are to keep a detailed Student Work Experience Journal and Host employers are required to comment on performance of the student during their work experience.
TasBGAS has built additional support into the program. Contact is made with parents prior to students commencing work experience to advise on the location and their expectations plus follow up contact made after each work experience week to seek parent’s feedback on the experience for their child and answer any questions they may have.
TasBGAS has invited industry experts to industry sharing sessions after work experience. The participants’ journals are discussed both individually and in a group environment.
