Big Build Victoria – New Major Projects Website
|

Recently the Victorian Government launched the Victoria’s Big Build website, which is aimed at providing all the information on the various major construction projects across the State.
|
The site includes all the relevant information about the construction, builders, timeframes and jobs available.
|
|
|

2018 Leaders in Workplace Gender Equality Announced
|
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) announced the list of 2017-18 WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation holders.
|
A record 120 organisations have received the citation this year, which recognises employer commitment and best practice in promoting gender equality in Australian workplaces.
|
WGEA Director Libby Lyons said the steady growth in the list indicated that the business benefits and competitive advantage gained by improving gender equality in Australian workplaces were becoming ever more widely recognised.
|
Trends among this year’s recipients include:
|
- entrenching organisation-wide flexible work
- programs to support women into leadership
- tailored parental leave policies to support use by both women and men
- initiatives to attract women into male-dominated roles
- supporting men’s caring responsibilities
- robust analysis and correction of gender pay gaps
|
|
|
NFP Innovation Index Survey Launches
|
Charities have been urged to embrace innovation as “the key to unlocking the most complex social issues”, with the launch this week of a nationwide innovation index survey for the not-for-profit sector.
|
The GiveEasy Innovation Index 2018 survey, has been developed by GiveEasy in partnership with Westpac, eWAY and the Australian Graduate School of Management at UNSW Business School.
|
Now in its fourth year, the index provides a year-on-year assessment to track and measure the innovation progress of the NFP sector.
|
“Like a number of other sectors, the NFP sector has been disrupted, whether it’s in fundraising or service delivery. So the sector is looking for alternative ways to complement what they’re doing at the moment,” said Jeremy Tobias, the CEO of GiveEasy.
|
“No matter if you’re small, medium or large, I think every NFP understands that innovation is important. Really this index is about starting the conversation or continuing the conversation, depending on where you are in your innovation journey.”
|
Last year’s GiveEasy Innovation Index reported a 9 per cent increase in innovation performance by Australian NFPs over the previous 12 months.

Nominations Open For 2018 Victorian Training Awards
|
|
Now in their 64th year, the prestigious awards recognise and honour the outstanding achievements of vocational education and training (VET) students, teachers, and the businesses who train them.
|
The Awards are an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your skills and journey within the training and TAFE system, and meet industry experts and employers from across Victoria to help build your career.
|
The Awards are open to all Victorian students in vocational education and/or training, from a range of backgrounds and age groups. There are five student award categories, including Apprentice of the Year, Vocational Student of the Year, Trainee of the Year, Koorie Student of the Year, and School-based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year. Winners receive $5,000 prize money, and become Victorian ambassadors for the TAFE and training sector.

Nominations for the awards are now open - until midnight on 2 April 2018.
