This workshop aims to create awareness of the six most important human factor topics that have the biggest impact on an individual’s state of mind, while at the same time providing on-demand access to cohesive visual microlearning and digital resources that can be quickly and easily shared in formal toolbox talks and informal conversations to assist apprentices to stay well while they are well as part of an organisation’s broader and more traditional Health and Wellbeing strategy.

Mental health first aid is the help provided to someone who is developing a mental health problem, has a worsening of an existing mental health problem or is
Mental health first aid is the help provided to someone who is developing a mental health problem, has a worsening of an existing mental health problem or is in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training programs authorised by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and conducted by MHFA instructors across Australia.
The Accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults working with adolescents (up to 18 years of age), however the course is relevant for those helping people who are a little older.
Timelines / Delivery:
The blended Youth MHFA course includes a combination of self-paced eLearning, and an instructor-led workshop.

Seona James is a Victorian Aboriginal and Yorta Yorta woman. She is the lead facilitator delivering all cultural recruitment training sessions for Indigenous Cultural Connections Pty Ltd. Since 2008, Seona has developed and facilitated Indigenous cultural recruitment training to various industries and workplaces. Seona shares her knowledge, personal stories and experiences, providing participants with the realities, both good and bad, of identifying as Aboriginal in the modern world.
