Jobs Victoria, in partnership with the Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN), are supporting small and medium-sized businesses to recruit and train 500 jobseekers to address critical workforce shortages.

Small and medium-sized hospitality businesses urgently needing staff can access the pool of workers for roles with at least 20 hours of work per week, for at least one week and up to 26 weeks, to assist in managing staff shortages.

Hospitality Pool Project Insights – As of 14 September 2022

  • 120 employees have been placed into the hospitality industry to resolve the immediate labour shortage issues faced by employers
  • 75 employers have benefited from the project with new employees engaged in the hospitality industry through the project
  • 5 participating partners are working with AEN to deliver great outcomes for the hospitality industry

The future is looking brighter for the hospitality industry due to initiatives like this delivered by JV and AEN. Employers are benefiting due to the influx of new talent joining the industry.
