Victorian Group Training Standards
Victorian Group Training Organisations are now regulated under new arrangements that commenced on 1 July 2016 through the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
The VRQA and the Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) are now working together to co-regulate Victorian group training organisations (GTOs).
Victorian VRQA GTO recognition process
The GTO recognition process and forms required to be submitted for organisations seeking to be recognised as a GTO in Victoria are available on the VRQA website.
Steps to organisations seeking GTO recognition in Victoria
Step 1: Submit an application, including a compliance self-assessment against the National Standards for Group Training Organisations, and associated evidence. AEN can provide you with the login details to complete the self assessment online.
To access the forms, see:
- GTO application form (docx – 1.56mb)
- National Standards for GTO self-assessment form (docx – 802.12kb)
Step 2: VRQA will assess the application and conduct a financial viability assessment, requesting specific financial information about your organisation.
Step 3: An audit will be conducted to determine your compliance with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations. This may involve a desk-audit and/or site audit.
Step 4: VRQA will provide feedback and seek a response from you.
Step 5: VRQA will make a final decision on the application. If the application is approved, recognition is granted for up to 5 years.
