Managing Competency Based Training in a Group Training Environment

The session will discuss methods and practices to assist GTOs manage the competency based progression and completion of apprentices / trainees.

It will include an overview of a competency based training system and provide some strategies to assist GTOs to engage the RTO and host employers to ensure the progression of the Apprenticeship / Traineeship is managed and includes a collaborative approach to completion.

Topics will include:

• Principles of a competency based training system
• Participating in the development of the training plan

• Monitoring and supporting student progress

• Contributing to assessment

• Assisting with the completion process
