The Victorian Government is investing $500 million in the Working for Victoria initiative to help our community and contribute to Victoria’s ability to respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Working for Victoria is supporting 300 young people aged 15 to 24 into paid apprenticeships and traineeships. They will be placed into 12-month roles with public sector employers across the state including local councils, hospitals, schools, TAFEs and water authorities.
This provides valuable opportunities for 2020 school leavers and unemployed young people seeking their first role, including those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The apprenticeships will help to increase participation of young people in the workforce, while assisting communities to meet future skill and employment needs.
