Over the past decade alone, as the CEO of Westvic Staffing Solutions, Dean has overseen the creation of over 4,000 apprenticeship placements for young people in regional Victoria. These apprenticeships not only provide career opportunities but also help local communities retain talent, strengthen businesses, and foster economic growth. Dean’s commitment to his cause is evident in his actions averaging over 700 kilometres each week to engage with employers, schools, and community leaders, often outside of working hours.
But Dean’s dedication extends beyond regional Victoria. He has taken his advocacy to a national and international stage. Since 2014, Dean has chaired the Apprenticeship Employment Network, leading efforts to shape policies that ensure the strength and continuity of apprenticeship programs. Moreover, his involvement in the Global Apprenticeship Network as the inaugural chair of the Australian network and a board member of GAN Global showcases his commitment to sharing best practices worldwide.

From the Global Financial Crisis to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dean has spearheaded initiatives like the Victorian Apprenticeship Recovery Program to support apprentices and our members during tough times.
