On February 19th, AEN hosted its Annual Apprenticeship Luncheon in Melbourne CBD.
This year, the event welcomed over 100 guests from Group Training, TAFE organisations, industry, government, and other VET stakeholders.
We want to express our gratitude to all attendees, AEN members, and sponsors for their unwavering support, as well as to the guest speakers for their valuable contributions.
The event featured a keynote from Lisa Chesters MP Chair of Standing Commitee on Employment, Education and Training, a panel discussion with inspiring Apprentice Training Award winners Wendy Clark, Lauchlann Fraser, Katrina Kessaris, and Pippa McPherson, and insights into this year’s plans for our Skillaroos from CEO Trevor Schwenke of WorldSkills Australia.
We would also like to thank Franklin O’Carroll & Heidi Wenk from Box Hill Institute, Bradley Crofts from the Fit to Drive Foundation, Philip Askew from the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), and James Montgomery from the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry, and Regions (Apprenticeships Victoria).
Special congratulations to Jayme Cannon & Leela Subramaniam for winning the GAN International Scholarship.
During the luncheon, GAN Australia officially launched the Quality Apprenticeships Employer Accreditation Program, designed to recognize best practices in apprentice employment. This accreditation, based on international quality frameworks, allows businesses to showcase the positive impacts of their apprenticeship programs and encourages ongoing improvement.
Exciting times ahead for our sector we are looking forward to next year’s Apprenticeship luncheon.
