Last Saturday the Prime Minister Hon. Julia Gillard launched the Bully Free Australia Foundation in Melbourne.
The Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Bill Shorten also announced a new bill that will be introduced to the House of Representatives next week. He said the new laws would “make [bullying] a problem that is dealt with by workplace laws for the first time ever”.
Victims of workplace bullying will be able to go to Fair Work Australia to seek an order preventing the offender from continuing to harass or intimidate.
The new provision is proposed to come into effect on July 1 this year – stay tuned for more details
