2020 School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Winner: Tyler Michalik

by

Tyler realised that he wanted a career as an electrician whilst undergoing work experience with Geelong Galvanizing. He is determined to complete his VCAL studies, as this enables him to work more and progress into becoming a full-time electrician, once his learning is complete. Tyler has enjoyed his course at The Gordon, finding the problem-solving aspects particularly intriguing.

He takes pleasure in starting work early and giving things a solid attempt. Tyler believes that the school-based apprenticeship has extended him a great opportunity to progress to a lifelong career as an electrician and he hopes to someday be able to teach other young people about the advantages of having a worthwhile and rewarding career.
